Top 5 Crocodile Movies

Crocodile movies are usually pretty dire, so the bar was extraordinarily low. Thank goodness for Rogue, a competent thrill machine with decent crocodile effects and a decent cast. Add to this the beautiful cinematography showcasing Australian's Northern Territory, and it's a winner.

The climax is admittedly silly, but I'll take it nevertheless.

Now this is a great crocodile flick! A decently-budgeted B-movie from the 80s, this Australian thriller is far too underrated for words. Yeah the crocodile effects look a tad cheesy, but give me this animatronic beauty over the the terrible CGI effects of today's SyFy movies.

The cast is great, the filmmaking is pretty damn good, and it's rated R. Gimme!!

It's probably a bit of a cheat to include this movie since it's not really a crocodile movie, but there are crocs here, and most other crocodile movies are shit, so I'm grasping at straws here.

This movie is a classic. So funny and entertaining.

I like this film. It's another low-budget Aussie effort (hm, this is the fourth Aussie movie on this five-movie list...) and it's definitely worth seeing. There's real tension here, and they actually used real crocodiles rather than cheap CGI or animatronic croc, so it's the most realistic croc movie ever.

Andrew Traucki's shark feature The Reef also featured on my Top 5 Shark Movies list. The dude is talented.

Umm... Yeah. I'm out of good crocodile movies. I hate Lake Placid but I'll toss it on this list over the likes of its shitty sequels simply because of its decent animatronic crocodile and a few nice attack scenes. But for the most part, it's shit.

Wow. I couldn't even find five genuinely good crocodile movies. WTF? I reserve the right to replace this film if I see something better.
