My expectations weren't that big, but I find this movie surprisingly enjoyable. One shouldn't be too jugdemental when it comes to the story and characters in these types of movies. The main focus is the humor and how good the timing is. Hot Shots! mostly succeeds!

I'm not a religious person. Therefore, I won't comment on the religious parts of this movie. Darren Aronofsky, as a director, has made a fine creation of this epic story. The cast is good, and there are some lovely visuals. The music is possibly my favorite thing about this movie. It's beautiful and dramatic. It gives me the shivers. Clint Mansell at his finest!

It's past 2:30 am and I suddenly started to write down thoughts of this movie on a Word document. Going to publish a review in the next days.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Hilarious! I won't forgive Shaun and Ed for throwing The Batman Soundtrack at the zombies, though :P

The World's End (2013)

1st Viewing | Blu-ray
A bit disappointing finale. Not as good and funny as Edgar's two previous movies.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Rewatch | Blu-ray
It lacks the big thrills and an awesome villain to become a great superhero movie. But still, I like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. His awkwardness causes several funny moments. Also, I prefer the genuine Emma Stone as Gwen over Kirsten Dunst as Mary. I also think Andrew and Emma work as a better duo, simply because there's a better chemistry between them.

Beautiful, heartfelt and melancholic. Terrific performances from Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett! They are both talented actors. Credit to the supporting actors too. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is an epic and unique story.
I also think the little tale about the blind man who built the reversed clock was heartbreaking.

This is a type of movie where you want to scream and throw something at the TV. This movie made me angry and upset. Mads Mikkelsen's portrayal is devastating, and it's painful to watch the society turn against him. This is a powerful movie.

The Avengers (2012)

Rewatch | Blu-ray
I love superheroes, that's for sure... and this movie is spectacular. Every superhero plays a part in the movie, but Tony Stark/Iron Man is my favorite. I also liked Bruce Banner, but I'm glad that The Hulk wasn't used too much. That moment when Bruce turns into The Hulk and smashes the giant alien thing is awesome. And like I've said before: I've grown fond of Captain America. I personally think that the storyline could've been tighten up, especially the first half of the movie and some action sequences. It would've been also great to see more insight of the characters and interactions between them. But still, the movie is a lot of fun. Plenty of action and humor!

(Damn... Chris Evans looks good in that uniform!)

This movie was surprisingly great! It's a cool spy thriller, with probably the most awesome action sequences in a Marvel movie. Lots of amazing close combats, where they only use body strength. The plot is engaging, and there are plenty of twists (although some of them are predictable). I'm glad that there wasn't a romantic subplot in this movie. I also begin to like Captain America even more now. I'm looking forward to see Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Did anyone who has seen the movie notice the necklace Black Widow was wearing? It was an arrow. Does it mean there's a more intimate bond between her and Hawkeye??? Oooooo.

Machete Kills (2013)

1st Viewing | Blu-ray
I didn't know that this was a "sequel". I guess I have to watch Machete someday. Anyway, this movie is a blast, thanks to goofy one-liners from Machete, crazy characters (Antonio Banderas' cameo was hilarious!) and trashy, yet funny action scenes. I did face some minor/major issues with the plot and occasionally the jokes didn't hit me, but overall I enjoyed watching it!
(Watching this movie made me realize that Danny Trejo freaks me out!)

Guess who's back?! I haven't created a list for a long time. I need to keep track on the movies that I watch. Therefore, I've decided to make my movie diaries again.
