A solid movie and worthy of the book. There was a lot of emotional pull and tension in several scenes and that makes a movie a winner to me. Still, the ending makes me feel sad.
Yokihana's rating:
A strange, but good movie. It wasn't quite what I expected and had a fun sort of dark feel to it. I recommend watching it if only for the experience (good message too).
Yokihana's rating:
Remember Me (2010)
Not a bad movie, but not the best either. Its one of those movie you watch because a certain actor is in it. It has a lot of raw emotion towards the end and throws quite a curveball.
Yokihana's rating:
Bella gets married, Bella gets pregnant. It wasn't a bad movie and I felt it had a more clean flow than the other films. Bella still annoys me, I'm still a Jacob and Bella fan.
Yokihana's rating:
Watching this movie as an adult is a very different experience than watching it as a kid. There's a lot of dark material in it and it does have arguably the best disney song in it.
Yokihana's rating:
Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005)
Revenge! A good film and all I can say is "you go girl."
Yokihana's rating:
One Hour Photo (2002) (2002)
A personal favorite. It gets creepier every time I watch it and I just realized something. Since Sly is in that photo at the end of the movie, does that mean they adopted him??
Yokihana's rating:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Finally got around to watching this classic. Funny, whitty and great coming of age tale.
Yokihana's rating:
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009)
Funny and good movie that follows the traditional 'ghosts of christmas past' with a romantic take. No really big complaints on this one.
Yokihana's rating:
Reasons why this is a good movie;
1-Zac Efron
2-Ned is a hardcore nerd
3-Zac Efron
4-Whitty dialogue
5-Realistic

Yokihana's rating:
It started off good, but it wasn't a film I really enjoyed. I didn't get a feeling from any of the relationships and everything in general felt weak.
Yokihana's rating:
Prom (2011)
A prime example of a movie to watch with friends...and make constant commentary on. It's predictable, the acting is pretty bad...did I mention predictable?
Yokihana's rating:
The Forgotten (2004)
I really enjoyed the beginning of the film, but for some reason I couldn't get into the second part. I think its mainly due to the fact I was hoping for something other than a government conspiracy (I don't like those kind of movies).
Yokihana's rating:
Easy A (2010)
A friend raved about this movie and after watching it I can see why. It was funny (a bit too crude for my taste). I enjoyed the acting and the sense of humor. A good and solid comedy :)
Yokihana's rating:
Prime (2005)
I really enjoyed Prime. At first I was unsure about how it would go, but the chemistry between the two characters makes it work (not saying its perfect, but its not unplausible). It was full of comedy, logical thought and the ending was somewhat unexpected. A good modern day romantic comedy.
Yokihana's rating:
Legally Blonde (2001)
I popped this in out of random interest and expected something dumb. It ended up not being annoying or dumb (unrealistic, yes). It was a pretty good watch.
Yokihana's rating:
I had trouble getting into Ella Enchanted. I love fairy tales, but it just felt so cheesy.
Yokihana's rating:
Marley & Me (2008)
I've been wanting to see Marley and Me for awhile now and it was well worth the wait. It was a sweet and entertaining movie that held my attention from start to finish. I really enjoyed the main characters because they're simply put, good people. Sure they had strife, but they didn't have angry fits at Marley when he did his antics.
Simply put, its a feel good movie that will leave you feeling happy and revived.

All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996)
When I first saw the sequel to one of my all time favorite movies I was really bothered by the time skip and still am. The original took place in the 1920s-1930s and somehow Itchy lives until the 80s/90s? Huh? What about Ann Marie??
It's not quite the same as the original, but you still see bits and pieces of the original character of Charlie, Carface and Itchy. I have mixed feelings on the love story aspect, but I appreciated the focus on Charlie letting people down since the end of the original left on that note;
Ann Marie: Will I see you again?
Charlie: Yeah!
Annmarie: *70 years later* ...Charlie...?
Oddly my favorite scene is when Charlie gets a second chance, the music just fits perfectly especially considering all that happened in this movie and the original.

Yokihana's rating:
All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989)
Growing up, All Dogs Go to Heaven was one of my favorite movies. I adored Charlie and he helped spur my love for German Shepherds (he may be a mixed pup, but still). I love the story, message and feelings from All Dogs Go to Heaven. When I watched it as an adult it was still as good as when I was little.
Yokihana's rating:
Jungle Emperor Leo (1997)
Random blurb-I don't know why, but this movie always feels so long. It's not boring or anything, just long. I really enjoyed this movie (3rd time seeing it) and its easy to see little bits and pieces of it in "The Lion King". There are quite a few heartbreaking moments and its one of those movies that really hit you.
Yokihana's rating:
When a Man Loves a Woman (1994)
A very intense movie. I wasn't completely crazy about it and it's also a film I don't typically watch (alcoholism). Brillant acting from the actors and actresses and I really loved Meg Ryan in this.
Yokihana's rating:
Ghost (1990)
I finally got to see Ghost after wanting to see it for a while now. It was a good film, but it didn't have the impact I was expecting. I thought the storyline was very well done and thought out and the acting was suberb (I loved Whoopi in this!)
Yokihana's rating:
Recess: School's Out (2001) (2017)
Growing up, Recess was a personal favorite once I hit late elementary school. It was like Hey Arnold, you could watch it over and over and still enjoy it. I'm glad to see the movie did it justice too =)
Yokihana's rating:
I'm in the middle of a Star Wars Marathon and up first was The Phantom Menace. It wasn't the greatest, but not terrible. I think what really hurt it for me was Jar Jar Binks.
Yokihana's rating:
A bit better than the first, I just thought the love story was a bit overdone. There are some good fight scenes.
Yokihana's rating:
(500) Days of Summer (2009)
A good and solid film. I really loved the approach to it and a voice offering input to situations in the movie. I liked the chemistry and emotions that come with the film. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but pretty good!
Yokihana's rating:
I recognized a few of these shorts and enjoyed seeing several of them again for the first time in years. It wasn't a bad movie, but at the time it didn't really click for me either (like fantasia).
Yokihana's rating:
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
I wasn't quite sure what to expect of this movie. I knew it was a cult hit, but I wasn't sure why. Seeing the movie I can see it, but it feels like it falls short. It just didn't grab me, though I appreciate what it was.
Yokihana's rating:
Cute movie and plot. I liked the characters and the story was both touching and unique. Not stellar, but a good chick-flick to watch with friends.
Yokihana's rating:
Stripes is a movie I started off loving and by the end didn't. I love Bill Murray which is why I gave it a watch and I enjoyed all the events leading up to the war and into training. Then, it just got lewd and I lost interest. For what it is, a good movie with decent comedy, if its in your taste.
Yokihana's rating:
Kronk's New Groove (2005)
At first I wasn't sure about this movie. Disney sequels have a bad habit of not being worthy successors. This was one of the exceptions. Sure it had its moments, but overall it was a good film. During some parts I enjoyed it more than the original. A good solid film that will leave a good feeling long after its done.
Yokihana's rating:
Julie & Julia (2009)
I loved this movie! It grabbed my attention and never let go. I'm an avid baker and cook and loved following the story.
Yokihana's rating:
X-Men: First Class (2011)
I never really got into X-men, which is strange since my two best friends growing up were and still are very much into x-men. I've been getting into the stories thanks to the movies and now I want to read the comics more. Anyways, great movie with a good story, acting etc. I'm thinking about getting it once it hits DVD.
Yokihana's rating:
I enjoyed the fourth movie and it felt stronger than the previous 3 installments. I loved the focus on Jack sparrow, Gibbs and Isabelle, the new lead lady.
Yokihana's rating:
The King and I (1999)
Not a bad film, but average at the same time. I enjoyed it and the characters and setting.
Yokihana's rating:
One thing I enjoyed about Marie Antoinette was how Kristen Dunst captured her. She did a good job capturing the emotions and had interesting responses to various events that popped up (historically accurate, maybe not, but it was more of a flashy film). It was a good watch and one that didn't leave me bored or asking for more.
Yokihana's rating:
Ponyo (2008)
I finally got around to watching Ponyo and it was a good film. I wasn't as interested in it as I have been in other Miyazaki films and thought the beginning was a little slow. It had plenty of emotion and that Miyazaki feel we all know and love.
Yokihana's rating:
Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)
"Epically awesome!" is what I said once the credits rolled. I found it to be one of the best animated features I've seen in a while with a plot that is fresh, never a moment to feel bored, a great cast of characters and music and culture that never fail. One of the best movies of the year. Kadoosh!
Yokihana's rating:
Hey Arnold! The Movie (2002)
I've been wanting to see this. movie for a while now and finally got around to it. Growing up, Hey Arnold was and still is one of my favorite cartoons. I enjoyed the film and it kept most of what made the series so great. Can't really think of any complaints.
Yokihana's rating:
The Birdcage (1996)
Midway through I imed a friend to say "torture". I couldn't get into the movie and thought it was boring. Also, why does one of the guys sound exactly like Billy Crystal?
Yokihana's rating:
I wasn't sure about Megamind when I first saw the commerical. However, after reading the plot I knew I had to see it. A villian that wins? I really loved Megamind and its good enough that even a day after watching it I'm still thinking about it. It's original, heartfelt and not your typical animation.
Yokihana's rating:
Tangled (2010)
After hearing several friends rave about how good Tangled was, my anticipation grew. After watching it, I noticed it doesn't really have a Disney feel to it. Sure, there are common elements, but its not Disneyish per se (I could see Dreamworks making this). The story is great, the characters are both recycled and very welcome, it can be predictable, but lovable all the same. I do have to say Maximus is one of my favorite Disney characters now!
Yokihana's rating:
Bicentennial Man (1999)
This is one of my favorite movies and I was in a Robin Williams movie, so a watch was completed. I really love this movie, it's innocent, curious and reflects on a number of philosphical issues. Everytime I watch it I get this deep feeling of mystery. Now I already want to watch it again.
Yokihana's rating:
Thor (2011)
Thor was a movie I was dying to see and I'm happy to say the hype was not unmerited. The acting was done very well and the story remained solid. There was more humor thrown in than I was expecting, which made the action not really feel as it should have. Still, it works, though not quite in the way fans may have been anticipating. Overall a great film and worth the price of admission.
Yokihana's rating:
One Night with the King (2006)
What a powerful film. It grabbed me from the get go and I enjoyed seeing the story of Esther retold in a really effective way (granted some things were changed/add to, its a movie). I felt it captured the emotional drama involved in the story (and there's a lot of it), something some movies fail to capture. On a side note, I love Esther's dresses.
