I'm no conspiracy theorist but i'd like to think that the only reason why Bruno wasn't even nominated for an Oscar was because he played the role of the infamous Hitler that everybody hates, so the academy didn't want to award someone for playing that role.

Seriously, that's the only explanation. it was one of the best performances of all time, and while we were too busy reading the subtitle, Bruno was perfecting his Austrian/German accent, perfecting the hands shaking, perfecting the look, Perfecting the face impressions, he WAS Hitler more than Hitler himself, and guess who won the Oscar for a leading role that year?
