The Ukulele Revolution

Palmer started playing ukelele as part of her solo act in the last few years, and she rarely plays a show without doing at least one song with it now. Earlier this year (2010) she released a Radiohead-ukelele-cover-album.

Also, I'm not sure if that is a ukulele in the picture..? I'm pretty sure it is, but you can never be completely certain what with the crazy amount of variation in stringed instruments...

The Pearl Jam guitarist is to release his second album, Ukulele Songs, at the end of May 2011.

Now, this isn't a RECENT performer at all, but his song 'Living in the Sunlight' featured prominently in the very first episode of SpongBob SquarePants, back in 1999.

Very few people will have heard of Pretty Balanced, who changed their name to The Alphabet, then split up last year. Before the split though, I was lucky enough to see them live at the Fringe for a second year in a row, and as I was going to miss their show due to the venue's timing mismanagement, they played me and my friends, and a couple of other people who were in the same situation as me, a short but very awesome acoustic-ukulele-street set. Above is Judith, PB's singer, in her solo career form 'The Sneaky Mister' playing some uke.
