Adam Sandler used to make funny movies. Then he started making movies that I have NO interest in seeing (Jack and Jill, That's My Boy, and You Don't Mess with the Zohan).
Since I actually liked the first Grown Ups, I thought I would give the sequel a try. Unfortunately, it wasn't that funny and the story was all over the place. There were a few parts that made me laugh, but not enough to really like it that much.

Shutter Island (2010)
May 2, 2014
1st viewing: DVD
Shutter Island is a movie that I've wanted to see for awhile now, especially since it is directed by Martin Scorsese. I didn't know anything else about it going in, other than it starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Michelle Williams.
This movie didn't disappoint. It is a very good psychological thriller that kept my attention throughout.

Parkland (2013)

Like most Americans, I'm interested in learning all that I can about the assassination of JFK.
Parkland does a decent job telling the story of what happened that tragic November day in Dallas, Texas.

The First Rule About Fight Club Is That You Dont Talk About Fight Club!
All I will say is that it wasn't as good as what I expected. Not even close! I rarely use this word, but I found it OVERRATED. That's just my opinion.

Empire of the Sun (1987)
May 11, 2014
1st viewing: Watched on DirecTV (Movie saved on DVR)
Empire of the Sun is an excellent movie directed by Steven Spielberg. 13 year old Christian Bale was remarkable. Even more impressive is that he is the main character for the movie.

Ted (2012)

I really don't know what to say about this one. Honestly, I was hoping that it was as funny as people said. Unfortunately, like a lot of modern comedies, it simply wasn't funny to me. The story was even worse of a disappointment.
