William F. Claxton was an American film and television producer, editor and director known for directing and producing episodes of "Bonanza", "Little House on the Prairie", and also episodes of the TV series "The Rifleman", "The Twilight Zone" and "Fame". He is also known for directing the 1972 sci-fi horror film "Night of the Lepus", which gained cult status for its laughably poor quality. Claxton also served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a captain during World War II, where he worked under Frank Capra as a film editor on the "Why We Fight" series.
