I wasn't sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a pretty cool cast, I thought I should check it out. Usually, I don't really care much for such thrillers with a really far-fetched plot but, I have to admit it, I really liked this one. I mean, the whole thing was really preposterous, that's for sure, but the makers managed to keep it somehow a little bit realistic (in my opinion, even if it was really unlikely, everything happening in this movie could happen in real life, at least, that's how it felt for me) and there was a pretty good suspense during the whole thing. On top of that, there was indeed a pretty nice cast (Kim Basinger, Chris Evans, Jason Statham, William H. Macy) and they all delivered some decent performances. If I remember correctly, it was the first movie starring Chris Evans that I saw and, back in those days, he was already quite charismatic. Again, usually, I really don't care much about this kind of US thrillers. I mean, they are usually well made and rather entertaining but they are also usually quite idiotic especially with their annoying endings filled with ridiculous twist. Still, even though, this time again, the whole thing was pretty far-out, I actually have a weak spot for this one and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
