Having seen both this and the original ("Rec"), I can say that I enjoyed the original much more, despite the fact that this remake was, scene for scene, exactly the same, and without the badly done English subtitles. However, I just watched "Quarantine" for the second time, upon learning about a sequel, and still enjoyed it enough to sit through it. As a horror/thriller type of movie, it's not bad, fairly decent, not one to own, or even watch multiple times, because once you know how it turns out, there's no way that, two years later, watching it again, there's enough you have forgotten from the first time around, to really give you a good scare or thrill. But the first time around, the movie did have some moments where I was wondering what was going to happen next, and I was engaged and wanted to see the whole thing. "Rec", however, was better, probably because it was acted better.
