It has been a while since I have seen this flick but I do remember it very well. To be honest, I have my doubts that this movie actually belongs to the best ones delivered by François Truffaut but I have to admit it that I really had a weak spot for the damned thing. Indeed, it is only in a French movie like this one that you would see a guy looking like Charles Denner playing the lead and also having a major success with all these gorgeous ladies. In fact, I just realize that I have barely seen any other movies starring this guy which is just too bad. Of course, it all seemed to be some massive male fantasy and you might argue that it all seemed slightly misogynist and, yet, it really worked for me. Indeed, even though I have a weak spot for romantic-comedies, most of them are based on some rather useless gimmick, this movie just gets rid off of all these gimmicks and focuses on what really matters, the actual relationships (and sometimes fascination) between men and women. To conclude, even though it is probably not a masterpiece, I really enjoyed it and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in François Truffaut’s work.
