Fu An's day manages to get much worse. The thieves that regularly steal the rare cinnamon from their mountain end up setting her house on fire, and her grandmother dies in the fire. All that Fu An can share with her brother now is the watch her grandfather Wang Cai gave to her grandmother, and the promise that he would come back to her one day.
