Sherry Locher grew up in a small suburb outside of Detroit. With her jazz musician father - known by his middle name, Clarke - and her mother named for Carole Lombard, Sherry was happily drawn to performing since birth.
While still in high school, Sherry was a member of the professional actors troupe at the Attic Theater in Detroit, and hosted an arts showcase program on a local cable station. She earned her BA in Theater & Drama on a full academic scholarship from the University of Michigan and taught theater and dance classes at a Detroit women's prison while at school.
