Sandra Descher was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Descher on November 30, 1945 in Burbank, California. Ironically, she was discovered while on vacation with her family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her first jobs were in uncredited bit parts in 1952. In 1954 Sandy played the traumatized little girl in "Them!" which is the role for which she is best-remembered. At that time she signed a long-term contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Loretta Young was her idol, and in 1962 she was hired to co-star in "The New Loretta Young Show."
