This compilation suggests the answer is yes; their early self-reinvention as a disco-soul act yielded fabulous singles like "Jive Talkin'" and the unstoppable Saturday Night Fever trilogy of "How Deep Is Your Love," "Stayin' Alive," and "Night Fever," but by the end of the '70s the inspiration was gone. Bland follow-ups like "Too Much Heaven" and "Love You Inside Out" are at a minimum here, though, making Greatest for the most part an honorable alternative to the SNF soundtrack, should you want one. --Ri
