Balaam & The Angel is a gothic rock band formed in England by the Scottish Morris brothers in 1984.
Initially the band self-released a series of EPs via their own Chapter 22 label. They included World of Light (1984), She Knows (1986, UK #81) and Slow Down (1986, UK # 87).
The band eventually caught the attention of Virgin Records and subsequently released their debut 'The Greatest Story Ever Told', in part a compilation of the aforementioned EPs, and is generally classified as a compilation album and not a studio album.
