“I had seriously no idea what to expect from this movie and the main reason why I wanted to watch it was because it was included in the '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die' list. Eventually, it was a really interesting feature. Indeed, it is always pretty neat to discover a new land and a new culture. Still, while watching the damned thing, I couldn't help thinking that, even though it was directed by a Saudi women, it still felt that it was giving a Western point of view on this strict Muslim culture. Basically, it gave a very bleak and sad view on the Saudi life, especially for the women and, even though it is probably true, it would have been nice to see something slightly more balanced. For example, towards the end, you get to see the main character reciting the Koran which seemed ” read more
