Description: In the far and distant future of 1968, giant submarine liners ferry passengers and freight under the Arctic ice. But someone—or something—has made eight of them mysteriously vanish without a trace. The U.S.S. Tiger Shark, the most powerful nuclear sub in the fleet, is sent to investigate and—if possible—to remove the cause of their disappearance. Commander Vandover and his crew encounter a telepathic alien invader with a single eye and octopus arms that threatens to wipe humans off the face of the earth.
