" Director: Stanley Kramer His 1st Movie My 7th movie watched from the director. Mitchum and De Havilland are really good in this debut film from Stanley Kramer. Sinatra plays the rare supporting role well, but the lesser known Gloria Grahame is the one who steals the show. It's clear Kramer didn't have the directorial acumen he would later have on display, but it's a solid debut for its time. It gets a little melodramatic and the themes are now dated.
