"4.4. 2024 A Korean family moves to Arkansas with the intention of creating a better life there, but everyday life in the new area has its challenges and culture clash is inevitable. "Minari" is a chronicle set in the neoliberal era. It realistically points out how the American Dream is a privilege reserved for the few lucky and rich ones."

" Notes: Even though I did like it, to be honest, it never really blew me away though. First of all, I think there was a lack of context. Indeed, when these characters arrived in Arkansas, they had a whole life in South-Korea and then again another life in California but you learned so very little about what happened back then and, as a result, I couldn't really compare their current situation with what they had before and make up my mind on my own if it was indeed an improvement or not. “I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since it had been very well received, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, even though I did like it, to be honest, it never really blew me away though. In the same fashion, I mentioned that they first arrived in California, so this movie was not even about them facing a culture clash and struggling with settling in a new count” read more

I usually find dramas like this hard to comment on, but this one has a very interesting demeanour: it's quiet and sedate, yet it always holds your attention. It's about a Korean family moving to rural America, and each member of the family has their own story to tell. At the centre is the father Jacob's determination to start a farm and the friction it causes with the others. The significan"

"First viewing - May 7th Showtime I couldn't seem to catch Minari in a theatre during its run, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the Showtime app. It was totally worth the wait. I found the tale of a Korean family chasing an American dream to Texas quite fascinating, & really enjoyed getting to know the family. The whole thing feels believable too. There were some minor things that keep me from calling it great, but it came close & I'm glad I finally caught up with it."

" 2021 Director: Lee Isaac Chung His 4th movie My 1st movie watched from the director A lovely and restrained movie about family and trying to make it in this shitty world. Added to Lists: Titles You Can Taste __________ Location: Northwest Arkansas"
