"A tough young girl lives with her aging grandfather near a cove on the coast of Cornwall. She supports herself and him by gathering seaweed to sell as fertiliser. She is made fun of by one family especially the young son and she despises them as they did not help her parents when they drowned in the sea. A pleasant coming of age family drama set amongst the rugged coastline of Cornwall. The main character of Mally is a likable enough young girl who is quite wild looking with her long black hair"
