Strikes a powerful cord
Helmed by film critic-turned-director Lindsay Anderson, If.... is an acidic assault on the imbalance of power and an experimental ode to revolution. "After seeing O' Lucky Man during my college years I was a big fan of director Lindsay Anderson, but I never got around to seeing his other films like this and Brittania Hospital. I spotted this on Criterion at the Goodwill and had to add it to the collection. "

" Notes: To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick so maybe I should give it another try at some point. In fact, I remember actually very well the first time I saw it. Back in those days, I was in college, studying English, and an English exchange student showed us this movie while in class. The guy was really enthusiast, telling that it was a massive classic but, in fact, none of us had heard about if before. Eventually, I had a rather hard time to connect with the whole th"

" Date: 3/27/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime Re-watch Note: This movie is awesome and I enjoy every bit of this movie. I didn't like this movie the first time I saw it back when I was a teenager. I highly recommend this movie!"

Now that I have I can see why Kubrick was so impressed by him, as his performance is the main reason to watch If.... In fact, whenever he's not on screen the film isn't quite as engaging. The rest of the cast does a solid enough job, but he clearly steals the film. One complaint I had is that the Criterion DVD lacked any subti"
