Movies the giraffe watched in 2021: August (41 movies items)"First viewing - Aug. 14th I was determined to finally get this watched this month given all the praise heaped upon it. And if all you care about is how a film works on technical levels, then yeah this is great. The cast is stellar all around, and despite the absurd run-time I never found myself bored with it. It's a meditative look at gangster life that I don't think Scorsese could have pulled off when he was younger. I especially enjoyed the friendship between De Niro and Pacino's characters. "

I'm a big fan of Martin Scorsese's films and I don't mind watching long movies. However, 3 and a half hours is a long time to watch a movie. I need to be in the right mindset to get in the mood to watch something very long. Seeing tonight was a rainy night, I had plenty of time to spare. The Irishman may not be my favorite movie from Martin Scorsese, but it's still a great movie nevertheless"
