It lacks some progression, the main character is too overpassed by Rush/Giacometti, but makes some good observation, that's his value

Description: Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) was a Swiss sculptor raised in a family where art was the central focus of life. He created his first painting when he was 12 and his first sculpture at 13. Giacometti commented on his early art: "It all came so easily, it was paradise." In Final Portrait, directed by Stanley Tucci, we encounter the great artist at a point in his life when nothing comes easy anymore. The film is based on the 1965 memoir A Giacometti Portrait by James Lord. First Viewing It's a slight film that too frequently relies on great artist tropes, but there's enough power in both the filmmaking and acting of Final Portrait to make a, mild, recommendation. Writer/director Stanley Tucci's exceedingly relaxed pace is both a blessing and a hinderance; while it renders several scenes monotonous, it also allows viewers to dig into the characters' world, expertly capturing mood and place.
