A bad movie

“To be honest, it is a rather obscure film and I ended up watching it because it was on TV so I thought I might as well check it out.  Above all, I decided to see it because the lovely Emmanuelle Béart was involved. I’m not sure if Béart is really famous abroad, probably not, but she has been on the A list in France for maybe 30 years.  Anyway, a year before this movie, she gave her breakthrough performance in ‘Manon des sources’, pretty much a classic in France. Surprisingly, she didn’t wait much longer and she went already the next year in the US to launch her international career which might have sounded like a great idea except that she picked a terrible movie for her first role in an English-language motion picture.
