"First Watched 1/1/2018 A very beautifully shot and extremely well acted war film that manages to be encapsulating in its surrealism and emotions without coming off as pretentious or distracting from the story. My only criticism comes towards the last third where that act has really powerful and disturbing imagery but at times the invading army acts downright cartoony and over the top that it was a bit jarring. However, it was not during the whole third act just sprinkled parts of it and I se"

"26.11, PC Hieno leffa.

" Notes: Well, the damned thing definitely deserves its notorious reputation and it is indeed by far the bleakest WWII movie I have seen. Of course, I’m well aware of the atrocities that happened back then in Western Europa but I’m not so familiar with what happened in Eastern Europa, in particular, the Soviet Union, but the horrors perpetuated there reached a really despicable level. To make it all even more horrific, everything was also told from the point of view of a very young boy. Even"

""It's said that you can't make an effective anti-war film because war by its nature is exciting, and the end of the film belongs to the survivors. No one would ever make the mistake of saying that about Elem Klimov's "Come and See." This 1985 film from Russia is one of the most devastating films ever about anything, and in it, the survivors must envy the dead." - Roger Ebert"
