“Even though this movie turned out to be a massive critical and commercial flop, I was still curious to see if it was really so bad. Well, I have to agree that the damned thing was indeed pretty weak. Basically, it was supposed to be some kind of cute, whimsical and perhaps even inspiring tale but it just never worked. Indeed, it turned out to be a mix of really random and weird scenes. To make things worse, most of the dialogues was filled with some incomprehensible mambo-jambo involving some Camazotz, some tesseract and three mysterious misses who really came from nowhere. Seriously, after 15 minutes, I pretty much gave up trying to understand what the hell was going on and I hope the book made more sense. At least, I hoped it would be visually appealing and the first scenes were promis” read more

"First viewing - March 17th Evidently I'm in the minority so far for supporting A Wrinkle in Time (as I type this the Listal rating is 4.6 and IMDb is 3.4). "This could be called an ambitious failure as Ava DuVeray directs the tale of Meg, a young girl whose father has disappeared and she goes in search of him in time and space. The visual effects are impressive as are the cinematography. while its fun to watch a 50 foot Orpah Winfred, the first hour is incredibly slow and the film only takes off when Meg and her gang head off to find her father. A terrific lead performance from newcomer Storm Reid saves the film."

If you haven't read the book, I would not recommend seeing this movie, since it felt like it was a companion to the book, relying on the audience to understand things that were unexplained. Part"

"Tomatometer Guess: 54%. Ava DuVernay directs this live-action adaptation of Madeline L'Engel's famous novel of the same name. Actual Score: 40%. A Wrinkle in Time is Visually striking and well-acted but unfortunately suffers from a generic script that tries to adapt the novel scene for scene with mixed results."
