Born in Tianjin, China, Lucia began dance training at the age of five. She moved to California at the age of 15 where she continued her dance training eventually becoming a professional dancer and dance teacher. She went to U.C. Santa Barbara for global studies and at age 19 she also started a modeling career. She turned her attention to an acting career after the worldwide search began for Disney's live-action, Mulan; a strong female character that was always an inspiration to her growing up.
