Highschool of the Dead (2010)
The line between anime and hentai, is sometimes very thin. Although it's always pleasing to see some cleavage and butts, which is pretty expectable in anime, but this time the amount of under skirt shots, huge boobs groping or bouncing even on their own, all over characters faces or on front of their eyes and high sexual tention between characters was overflowing. Like literally in one bathtub scene, while taking some R&R from zombie apocalypse going outside.
But beside of that, the show was pretty entertaining follow of small student group surviving the first days of zombie pandemic.
Characters were very stereotypical anime characters in a very colorful and funny way, but many times their decisions or dialogue made my eyes roll.
Action was packed and diverse and reminded me a lot of Black Lagoon (2006), which was this team's previous awesome show.
Only major downside was to see only 12 episodes of this show which had more potential for few more seasons to see how the characters evolve and the world would changes over time.
But luckily there is a movie follow-up and by the look of the plot, there will be more of that thin line checking what I was talking about at the beginning of the review...

Very well written and produced horror, which doesn't haiste but takes its time to build its story, characters and tension.

I started watching Metsolat with my parents while visiting home and continued after returning the visit from Yle Areena, after hearing it was added there recently. Boy how it raised some nostalgic memories in my mind.
I remember how I used to watch this with my family or my grandparents while visiting them in the mid nineties. Some of the characters and theme music was the only thing which I recalled from the series, which is still on this date one of the greatest Finnish TV shows of all time. Can't say the same about the below average shows which they're producing today on our TV and it's kinda sad that those days seems to be behind of our nation's television programs.
Now I can see how well it was written and produced after collecting some knowledge from cinema at the last two decades. It breaths this warm and cheerful feeling, but also shows how harsh the times was to smallholders back in late eighties and early nineties, which I managed to witness myself while helping my father and his parents as a small kid in our own family ranch before ending the farming in 2003.
The drama between characters and the situations they're facing in everyday life is very interesting to follow and above all, those golden memories from my childhood which flows in my mind while watching this with a wide smile on my face.
Great piece of Finnish TV history from its Golden Age!

Setting is based post wartime telling a story of Violet Evergarden, an ex-soldier who got wounded in war losing both of her arms and get them replaced with mechanical prosthetics. Getting to know her new limbs and life in the aftermath of a war, she gets a job at a writers' agency as a Auto Memory Doll and goes on assignments to write letters that can connect people. Her obedient, almost emotionless behavior and odd way of seeing normal humane emotions from people around her creates drama which at first was barely interesting enough to follow but in the end very heartwarming stories to see. Like Violet's development to more humane, which she almost lost in a war and her impact to people which she ended up helping while forming letters to their loved ones.
Anime style is gorgeous and the kind what I prefer to see in proper anime feature: Warm, atmospheric and detailed.
Music is very mellow and emotional, which is pleasing to listen.

One Punch Man (2015)
Like in the first season, humor, adrenaline fulled combat scenes and detailed anime style was present.
Got to see a bunch of new heroes, foes and a new threat, which were entertaining to follow and kept the same interest on like in the last time.

Modern Family (2009)
A FEEL GOOD SHOW
Easy to follow, humor's laughable and situations entertaining.
Chemistry between the cast is solid and the acting goes pretty smoothly. Especially child actors.

I was one of the sceptical ones towards this series from the beginning for being a huge fan of the games since 2011, when I first played the second Witcher game: Assassins Of Kings. Its rich, magical, realistic, brutal and mature world pulled me right into it and was welcoming change to my gaming world. Can't say much about the books 'cause I haven't read one. Yet. But the show was surprisingly true to the games and its characters. From the settings to the mood and people. The language could've been more casual foul like in the games, but now im just nitpicking.
My first major concern was casting Henry Cavill as Geralt Of Rivia, who wasn't resembled the main character at all. But he outdone himself by making this his best performance so far. It was clear, as he had mentioned, that he is a fan of the game and played it fair amount. Sometimes his emotionless comments made me laughed out loud and I loved how cool he was by making or saying things what should've woke some emotions from a regular people.
First season was full of awesome, emotional and chilling moments fullfilled with an awesome score. Although it was not so awesome as in The Wild Hunt.
Anxious to see more in... 2021!!??
