Miike's Fatal Attraction on a speedball is the second greatest movie ever made, period. It's one of those rare pieces where everything comes together: directing, script, acting, special effects. Splatterhounds complain that there isn't enough blood and violence; obviously, that isn't the point of this horror movie. It's an ignorant American thing because every J-Splatter fetishist has seen Ichi the Killer and thinks every Japanese movie has five foot arterial sprays and people being split in half by foot blades. Damn...I need to go watch Ichi the Killer again.

Ran (1985)
Everyone has their favorite Kurosawa movie; Ran is mine. For those who don't know, it's an adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear set in Feudal Japan. It's the ultimate story of greed, deception, madness and destruction. Watch it just for the amazing castle burning scene.

Forget just Asian cinema; this is possibly the most creative and visually stunning vampire movie ever made. It's different, disturbing, fresh, beautiful, and kind of mind-blowing. One just can't help but be a Chan-wook Park fan. His movies are just fun to look at.
