Ingrid van Bergen was born on June 15, 1931 in Danzig-Langfuhr, Free City of Danzig [now Wrzeszcz, Gdansk, Pomorskie, Poland]. She is an actress, known for Escape from East Berlin (1962), Roses for the Prosecutor (1959) and Was wissen Sie von Titipu? (1972).
She was convicted of the manslaughter of her partner Klaus Knaths at their home in West Germany on February 2, 1977. She was sentenced to seven years in Aichach women's prison in Bavaria. She was released two years early in 1982 for good behavior.
