Rocky Balboa (PSP) - PlayStation Portable

In terms of controls the game isn't too concerned with realism, instead simulating the sort of Hollywood fight physics seen in the movies. As such, you have to be constantly aware of your character's mood and willpower, in order to facilitate a signature Rocky comeback with special moves that can only be unlocked as the match goes on. Like many PSP games the single analogue stick isn't ideal, but the game's much taunted "torso control" does give you a decent amount of control over Rocky, or whichever of the twenty-five other boxers you happen to be playing as. Graphically the game is impressive although it uses a slightly odd lighting model where some of the characters seem to gleam almost as if they were made of metal. With five separate game modes though, including a fun two-player mode, this is a better tie-in than most other films get.
