Maurice (Planet of the Apes)

Maurice is a compassionate and noble evolved orangutan, the main advisor and most trusted confidant of the late Ape King Caesar. He helped liberate his fellow apes in the Ape Rebellion, oversaw the teaching of the ape colony, and helped stop Colonel McCullough from killing the apes. He also took in the human girl Nova and raised her as his own.
