Abraham "Abe" Jay-Jedediah Simpson II, also known as "Grifty McGrift" and "Grandfather Simpson", or simply as "Grandpa" is the patriarch of the Simpson family, the father of Homer, Herbert and Abbie Simpson, and father-in-law of Marge Simpson, and the paternal grandfather of Bart, Lisa , Maggie Simpson and Homer Jr. He is also the maternal grandfather of Jessica Simpson. He is also the Ex-boyfriend of Jacqueline Bouiver.

Abe is a World War II veteran who was later sent to the Springfield Retirement Castle by Homer. He is known for his long, rambling, and often inaccurate stories and general incompetence.
