Grace Chen

Grace Chen, also known as Chen Pei Pei, is a young detective and martial artist from Shanghai, China and now detective for the Los Angeles Police Department with her teacher and former Shanghai police captain now detective Sammo Law as they fight crime alongside Detective Louis Malone, Dana Dixon, Lt. Terrell Parker, Lt Benjamin Winship and later Commander. Amy Dylan as a replacement for Lt. Winship when he retired at the end of season .

Grace is played by Kelly Hu.

Grace is dedicated to her work and not particularly sociable. When troubled, she often confides her problems to Sammo.

Grace is an excellent fighter and a true professional in hand-to-hand combat. She easily fights 2-3 enemies at once and always demonstrates her spectacular but also effective fighting skills. As an expert in martial arts, Grace often overpowers her enemies frequently beating them badly, sometimes into blood or pulp.

Grace's father is a Chinese diplomat. He is noted to have been a fan of American actress Grace Kelly, which is how Grace got her western name.

Grace's parents live in China. Grace used to avoid taking calls from them, because they would nag her.
