Frankenstein's Creature
Victor Frankenstein's creation is described in Mary Shelley's book, Frankenstein, in multiple ways, including fiend, wretch, and even devil. These are all inappropriate terms when all of the creature's actions are taken into perspective. He begins his existence as a loving, benevolent, even child-like creature, but through society's - and even his own creator's - total disregard and rejection of him, he is slowly and tragically transformed into the monster and beast they have imagined him to be.
