Was cast by Sean Penn in The Last Face after he saw her audition tape, but then had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with her recurring role on SVU. Sean wanted her involved so badly that he flew her out at the end of shooting to play a different role in the film.
Graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in fall of 2013 with her MA in Acting.
Her mother is Maureen Grady and her father is Tom Reed. Her brother is Aidan Ajandek Reed.
Is an accomplished singer. Initially trained in classical voice (she appeared in La Boheme as a child with Placido Domingo), she later pursued musical theatre, and now mainly focuses on jazz and singer-songwriter material. She is one of the lead singers in the NYC based New Deco Orchestra, and has a band called Wild Peace with Michael Sutherland.
Is a skilled dancer. Was once a Summer Soloist with American Ballet Theatre, and trained for many summers with The Joffrey Ballet. After a bad foot injury in high school, she turned her focus to acting.
After playing Cleopatra at LAMDA, Ros Hubbard called her in for a meeting to make sure she got an agent. Two weeks later she signed with Innovative Artists.
Was considered for both Tracy in "Into the Wild" and Martine in "The Yellow Handkerchief". Both roles eventually went to Kristen Stewart.
Worked closely with The Public Theatre her Freshman year at Stanford University. They had a residency on campus at the time and cast her as Rosaline in their production of "Love's Labour's Lost." After Oskar Eustis saw her performance, she flew out to NYC to audition for Shakespeare in the Park.
At 15, she played Adelaide in her high school production of "Guys 'n Dolls".
