Boys Like Girls released their self titled debut album on August 22, 2006. During the first weeks of sales, the album didn't sell too well, only reaching the lower half of the Billboard 200. Their first single, "Hero/Heroine", charted to #43 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it was their second single, "The Great Escape", that brought the album sales up. With the single climbing the Top 40 of the Hot 100, the album managed to re-enter the chart and peak at #55 on the Billboard 200 chart. Within weeks of the re-entry, the album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 11, 2008. The album's third single, "Thunder", wasn't much of a big hit, only reaching #76 on the Hot 100 chart. However, the single obtained a Gold certification.

Their second album, Love Drunk, was released on September 8, 2009. It proved that their popularity had increased, as the album debuted and peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200. It also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Rock albums and #11 on the Canadian Albums Chart. The albums title track and lead-off single reached #22 on the Hot 100, giving them their second Top 40 on that chart. A digital single, "She's Got a Boyfriend Now", reached #9 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, which is equivalent to #109 on the Hot 100. The albums official second single, "Two Is Better Than One", features country pop artist Taylor Swift. It, too, has become a Top 40 single on the Hot 100, giving Boys Like Girls their third, and Swift her twenty second and is the group's biggest hit to date.

In 2012, Boys Like Girls announced that they were working on a new full-length studio album, titled "Crazy World" and is set for a fall 2012release. Several song titles were leaked out, including, "Be Your Everything", "Cheated", "Stuck in the Middle", "Leaving California", "Shoot", "Crazy World", "Take Me Home", "Red Cup, Hands Up, Long Brown Hair", "Life of the Party", & "The First Time", although they are not confirmed. ...
